WordPress is fine, actually.

Everyone wants to migrate to a static site generator. Then they realize the client also wants to update copy without a pull request. A defense of boring tools, twenty years in.

There is a recurring fantasy in our industry that the next stack will finally fix everything. Static site generators, headless CMSes, the framework of the month. They are genuinely good tools — for teams that have engineers on staff.

Most small businesses do not. They have an office manager who needs to change a phone number on a Tuesday afternoon without filing a ticket. WordPress, kept lean and well-hosted, still does that better than almost anything else.
